The following notes are intended to give you more information about the conference and to help you when filling in your individual registration form. Please fill in the form, legibly and in capital letters.

1. DATES

Reception of participants at the conference will be from 14:00 up to 17:30 on Monday, 19 July 2010. Departures will be on Monday 26 July, after the breakfast.

2. LOCATION

The conference will be held in the Conference centre of Valpré-Lyon in Ecully which is 7 km from Lyon centre (Lyon Part-Dieu railways station); Lyon is a large town situated in South-East of France (~1,3 millions people) at the confluence of both the Rhône and Saône rivers.

3. VENUE

Reception and most events during the conference will take place at:

The Conference centre of Valpré-Lyon, located a the top of one of the hills surrounding Lyon, is at 20 minutes by taxi, or 35 minutes by bus (N°19) from city-Lyon centre (Lyon Part-Dieu railways station).

4. ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation will be in the Conference centre of Valpré-Lyon or near, if the number of participants is high.

There are comfortable rooms having 1, 2, 3 and 4 beds with ensuite inside. For these rooms, sheets and towels are provided. The rooms with 3 and 4 beds will be reserved, firstly to the families and people of Eastern Europe.

In the annex-castle, located in the park of the Conference centre, there are 16 places available, shared in 3 rooms with 2, 6 and 8 beds respectively; ensuite are on the floor. For these rooms, soap, sheets and towels are to be brought (except if you pay 53€ more).

Meals will be served in the conference centre.

Worship will be held in the conference centre (very nice Chapel of 450 seats), and also in different churches in the city of Lyon.

5. TRAVEL

PRELIMINARY IMPORTANT NOTICES:

- For anybody arriving by Air, train or bus, the “RENDEZ-VOUS” will be in the Lyon Part-Dieu railway station; from this place, special IEF shuttles will bring you to the Conference centre. Please indicate, in your individual registration form, your estimated arrival time in order to minimize the number of shuttles.

-If you have missed the IEF shuttles, the best way is to take a Taxi from the Lyon Part-Dieu railway Station up to the Conference centre of Lyon-Valpré; it will take about 20 minutes and cost about 20€. If you can be 3 in a same taxi the cost will be reduced. Give, on a paper, the exact address of the Conference centre to the driver. If you are lost, please phone to th Conference Centre (see VENUE paragraph). We do the best to help you.

- At all people registered, we will send a detailed plan of Lyon Part-Dieu railway station indicating the “RENDEZ-VOUS” place.

You can travel to Lyon by air, train, car, or bus.

· By air : There are direct flights to Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport from many cities in Europe. See the website http://www.lyon.aeroport.fr/index.php?module=cms&desc=default&action=get&id=28 at the bottom of the page, in DOCUMENTS, download the pdf file :“guide du voyageur”.

In the airport, take the “Satobus” which is a Shuttle service between Lyon Saint-Exupery airport and the Lyon-Part-Dieu railways station (RENDEZ-VOUS), every 20 minutes (8,90€ for a single ticket and , 15,90€ for a single & return ticket); time to reach Lyon-Part-Dieu railway station is about 35 minutes.

By train: stop to Lyon-Part-Dieu railway station (RENDEZ-VOUS). See www.tgv-europe.com for time-table and fare.

Take your tickets well in advance: the cost will be reduced and don’t forget that it is a holydays period in France.

By car or own bus:

Take A6 (E15), take the ring, then exit 35, “Ecully”; at the round-about, follow “Ecully centre”; after 500m, at the traffic lights, turn to the left, direction “Valpré” by the “chemin Louis Chirpaz” (service-station at the corner); cross over the highway and, at the round-about, take the “chemin de Chalin” in front of. There is a car park inside the Conference centre of Valpré-Lyon.

If you have a GPS, program the address of the Conference Centre.

· By bus: Contact Eurolines service: www.eurolines.fr ; ask for stop at Lyon Part-Dieu railway Station.

6. INSURANCE

You are strongly advised to take out a personal insurance, including cancellation for your travel and stay. IEF is not responsible for any losses or accidents which might occur.

7. WORKSHOPS

The planned workshops are listed below. Please indicate on your individual registration form your first, second and third choice. You will be allocated to the workshop of your first choice if possible.


8. COSTS

The given prices are per person and cover all conference costs (accommodations, foods, hire of the Conference Centre, excursions…). It will vary with the accommodation category you choose and whether you come from Western Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain) or Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia).

All participants must pay in Euros (€).

There are two tables:

Table 1, shows costs for all participants lodged in the Conference centre (major part of participants)

Table 2, shows costs for participants who are living in Lyon or have the possibility for lodging in Lyon at their own convenience. The meals are included. The pass A is for all conference, the pass B concerns the first 3.5 days (from Monday 19 afternoon to Thursday 22 of July evening).

Remarks:

-These prices have been settled at their lowest values; there are not so high taking into account the offered program and the quality of accommodation; reductions could be offered for exceptional cases approved by the working Party.

-No reduction on the pass A or B

-Report on your individual registration form the chosen category:

Ex: if you are coming from Eastern Europe and you choose a double room, please indicate 2E at the right place on your individual registration form

9. WHAT TO BRING

Bible, your medication, notebook and pencil, soap, towels and sheets (for rooms in the annex-castle only), swimming trunks. Clergy are invited to bring liturgical dress. Musical instruments for music workshop. Sheets and towels for those lodging in the annex-castle.

10. INTERNATIONAL EVENING

It is proposed, to each Region, to express the theme of the Conference by miming, singing or dancing without too many words (for a better exchange of gifts by a universal expression !!).

11. CLIMATE

The mean temperature in Lyon in summer may be higher as 30°C; the conference centre has air-conditioned; but for the trips in Lyon or the outing-day, please bring a hat and glasses again the sun. The weather can also be stormy or rainy so bring with you an umbrella or a Kway.

12. CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Programs will be prepared for children and young people to suit their ages and interests.

13. STAYING IN FRANCE AFTER THE CONFERENCE

For the moment, we propose one extra conference project:

An ecumenical and touristic week in the scenic beauty of Cevennes mountains with the history of “Camisards”. The cost will vary with the number of participants. If you are interested, please circle “Yes” on your individual registration form to receive further informations.

14. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

Please complete the enclosed individual registration form and send it, together with your deposit to your regional Registrar (see address below) by 15 March 2010. Please send the final payment to your regional Registrar/treasurer imperatively by 1st of June. If you cancel, we will keep half of your deposit (except in case of illness or absolute necessity).
